Sterigerms machines allow you to treat liquid as long as the proportion of liquid waste in the total waste mix does not exceed 10-15%, depending on the waste mix – if you add more absorbent materials (nappies, paper, etc.), you can also add more liquid. A larger proportion of liquid will not prevent the neutralisation of the waste, but the disk produced at the end of the process may be thicker and less compact.

The following types of waste can be treated in the machine: Pipes, syringes, compresses, dressings, cotton pads, strips, bandages, plasters, dressings, scrubs, aprons, gloves, masks, fingerstalls, sterile fields, needles, blades, razors, small sharp ampoules, scalpels, lancets (sharps must be placed in accredited containers), bags for liquids, blood sample tubes, drains, dialysis machines, aspiration bottles, spittoons, kidney bowls, all blood products and biological liquids and their containers (blood bags, transfusers, etc.), etc.

Sterigerms 60 litres: 3kwh – 20A; 220/240V, 50/60Hz. Sterigerms 12 litres: 1kwh – 6A; 220/240V, 50/60Hz

Yes, the Sterigerms solution consists of using a Steribag, which can stand up to both high temperatures and compression and helps to keep the waste compacted so that it is easier to handle. Using Sterigerms without a Steribag will void the equipment’s guarantee.
